I get asked every now and then about how I got into cooking in Australia in the first place and, frankly, I am not really sure. It just sort of happnend. When I was finishing university in South Korea, I wasn't really sure what I wanted to do but I knew that I wanted to get a job and earn money as soon as I graduate and that would allow me to enjoy life. A friend of mine happened to go overseas to get better opportunities at the time and I decieded that I would give that a try while I tried to figure things out in terms of my long terms goal which can make me happier. After I studied cooking and decied to migrate to Australia, I was lucky enough to come across a few good work opportunities in Sydney and I gradually found myself really caring about the work and I've just never looked back since.
To be honest, there is a kind of social pressure in Korea. I can say it "the wrong kind of pressure"
which is something like the pressure to pursue a certain kind of education, to have a certain type of job, to be married by a certain age, children. you know what I am talking about. We've all been there.
